Carney, R-Charleston County, announced the City of Charleston’s One-Week One-Car Rentals Program on Friday, November 12, 2017, to support the city’s efforts to reduce traffic congestion and promote safer communities for residents and visitors.

Carney said that the One-week One-Rental program will encourage local businesses to offer discounted rates on new car rentals.

Car rentals will also be available to Charlestonians for $6.50, $8, $10, and $15 a day.

Charleston’s One Week One-CARRENTAL Program is available for Charleston residents and business owners who have no car, who are unable to find a vehicle for rent in their area, or who are looking to rent one-time vehicles.

Carney announced the One Week one-car rental program in Charleston City Council District 13 on Thursday, October 25, 2017 at the City Council chambers in the City Hall.

Carney announced the program on the Charleston City Hall Chamber of Commerce’s website on Friday.

Carneys announcement comes as the City continues to battle the citywide outbreak of coronavirus in Charleston.

The number of people who tested positive for the coronaviruses has jumped from 4,846 in the week of Oct. 24 to 6,865 in the last 24 hours.

The city’s Chief of Health Dr. Robert Williams said Thursday that the city has seen an increase of up to 50% in new coronaviral cases.

Williams also said that there have been a total of 541 new coronax cases confirmed in the city this week.

On Thursday night, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported the coronax deaths of 11 people in the state of Virginia.

The CDC also reported a total 547 confirmed cases in the U.S. and 774 deaths in the United States.

Charlotene, Virginia, is currently in lockdown as the city is currently under lockdown following a citywide lockdown.

Charlottesville City Councilmembers John J Carney and Michelle St. John announced the city will host a One Week Two-Car rental program beginning Friday, October 28.

 Carney stated the program will help local businesses and citizens with the cost of renting a car.

Carrie said the city of Charleston has taken steps to reduce congestion and improve safety by reducing traffic on City streets.

Carrico said the City is providing a $500 grant to local businesses that have been impacted by the outbreak to help them reduce their traffic congestion.

Carriets office is offering a car loan of $1,500 per vehicle.

Carrier said the OneWeek OneCarrental program is available to anyone 18 years and older who is willing to rent their vehicle for the one week.

The program will start at 10am on Saturday, October 29 and last until midnight on Monday, October 31.
